Caring Attention
At
Hope we pay close attention to the changing needs of our
participants. We provide two meals and a snack each day -- and
assistance
is offered as needed. Toileting assistance is available as
are showers
and nail care overseen by our experienced certified nursing
assistants. To keep participants looking good --and feeling
good about themselves – the
center offers on-site haidressing, including hair coloring.
"The
staff is cheerful, welcoming and loving.
I have great peace of mind
knowing she’s happy at Hope.
It’s even better
than I’d hoped."
Sheila McCarty, Warwick
We
also understand that our participants can’t always
tell us or their caregivers if they aren’t feeling
well, so our skilled and experienced registered nurses keep
a close eye on their
health. Our nurses
- Conduct mini-physicals every month to
check things like weight, blood pressure and respiration
- Help
with care planning for our participants
- Dispense medications
prescribed by participants’ physicians,
including injections
- Follow up on any health problems and
coordinate with participants’ doctors
In addition, we
provide management of special diets and lab specimen collection.
A visiting podiatrist provides
foot
care services
and Hope will arrange for cccupational, speech and
physical therapy services.
Important as these services are, though,
our staff understands they are only part of what our participants
need. Like
all of us, they
also need attention and affection and a feeling that
they matter. So, whether it’s a quiet conversation,
a hug or a stroll together in the yard, our staff
seeks out opportunities to show
each participant how
much he or she is loved and valued.
